There have been times in this class that I have been very glad to have taken this course. On the contrary, there has been instances in which I wished I had never taken it, but overall, I have learned some useful skills. These skill go deeper than setting the exposure on a camera, setting up a shot, or working with photoshop, but I will go into that later. I did enjoy the class, but wished that there was a way to not have to take so many pictures out of school. Many of the photoshop assignments, I found, were interesting and fun to learn. I thought it would be cool to have part of the final be where everyone individually go into a room that has lamps/lights and maybe a bunch of random objects, on top of what is already in the room. Then, each student would have to find some sort of picture to take in manual. Just an idea. In regards to what I learned and how I grew, many factors played roles into making these changes possible in my life. For the photo shooting assignments, I learned not to wait until late Sunday night to shoot whatever I could get away with. This came up more than once. In class, I strengthened my ability to shut out people's voices because the people sitting behind me would never stop talking. Every single day they would just yell the entire class period, so I guess you could say that I learned how to control my temper a little better too. Over all, I think that I will have opportunities to apply the skills I have learned, from camera basics to work ethic to tuning out voices, in the future. That being said, I think I am glad I took this class. Here are some examples of how my photography and photoshop skill have developed: The image on the left pictures what I thought was a good portrait on one of the first days of taking pictures. Obviously, there are some issues with it and the improvement is obvious. Next is an example of my improvement in photoshop. The left photos shows a simple transformation, but really, it was more of following the directions without thinking too much about it. The right photos show two of my favorite photoshop projects that were very complicated.

For this assignment, we were supposed to make a picture that has multiple layers of different images. For one part, we made a punny picture and the other showed the definition of a word. From this assignment, I was able to improve my skills at working with Photoshop quickly.
I chose to shoot this subject because it allowed me to use some pictures that never really fit in others and I could photograph anything I wanted to. I didn't make any changes at all... Hahaha just kidding, I desaturated it and changed the lighting and contrast to give a desired look. Metadata: Aperture: f/3.2 Shutter Speed: 1/125 ISO: 400 I learned that I can make any photo look bad if I want to, but I can also make an ok photo great by using my tools in photoshop.
